A free update to C64 Forever 2009.1.0.0 was released today. New features include Export to Device functionality in RP9 Manager and Now Playing data for use by Skype, Messenger, Twitter and similar plugins. Also added a button to add disk and tape images in the manual configuration dialog (drag-and-drop was and remains possible). Includes new Software Director.

A free update to C64 Forever 2009.0.6.0 was released today. This version improves detection of full-screen mode problems, adds a logging option to all emulation guests, and improves cache behavior and performance on non-NTFS file systems.

A free update to C64 Forever 2009.0.5.0 was released today. This version passed the official "Compatible with Windows 7" logo test, and also addresses a few minor bugs.

A free update to C64 Forever 2009.0.4.0 was released today. New features include a Rescan command in RP9 Manager, support for Windows 7 "Recent" jump lists, and improved handling of future updates. Updated Tip of the Day content, now also with mouse wheel navigation. An error condition that could involve the disk change commit was also resolved. Before selecting Check for Updates make sure that Software Director is up to date (self-updates are notified via a balloon, or may be checked in the Windows Control Panel). The new version of C64 Forever is now also available as a free feature-limited Express Edition.

C64 Forever and c64forever.com are being officially released today. The new site also features an HD video of this week's live event, and a new release of VICE (with source code) by Cloanto's RetroPlatform Team.

Final source code of VICE 2.1.cloanto-1 (based on official VICE 2.1) as used in C64 Forever is available. See the ChangeLog file in the archive for a detailed list of new features compared to VICE 2.1. Please note that although, like previous revisions, it has been shared for review, this is not an official build released by the Vice Team. We hope that the two efforts can merge soon, maybe with a little bit of help.

For the technically minded, test source code of VICE 2.1 with RetroPlatform extensions as used in C64 Forever is available. New features compared to VICE 2.1: added RetroPlatform support; added fullscreen multi-monitor support; improved enumeration of full-screen modes (the screen no longer flickers when VICE is launched); improved full-screen switching in Windows Vista (Aero is no longer disabled when switching to full screen); fixed a bug which prevented the use of the F10 and Alt keys in the joystick keysets; added "Log" resource (0/1, default=1) to enable/disable logging; fixed an issue with log files (when a non-default Logfile was specified on the command line, the default log file was created in the program path anyway); fixed memory leaks when using the -autostart option, when closing the Attach Disk Image dialog, when exiting xcbm2.exe and when closing the Video Settings dialog.
